Food education-Cooking a Delicious meal
In our first visit to Grass Hope Taiwan Foundation, Earth's Children learned to cook for our own lunch. We made a yummy lunch with the fresh ingredients straight from the farmlands. Cooking is part of an important part of food education. This cooking session has enhanced our life skills. We learned to recognize the names of different vegetables and ways to cook them.
Earth's Children were cooking lunch
Each of the Earth’s Children was assigned a job. For example, my task was to make stir-fried water spinach. Cooking alongside the teachers and teammates was a brand new experience for me. Through cooperating with each others, the meal was done in no time. Then, we quickly set up the tables. We all wondered what will our lunch taste like. To our surprise, every single dish was so tasty that we can’t stop moving our chopsticks. It turned out that there weren't any left overs.
Perhaps it’s as one of the teachers said, “everything tastes better after a day of hard work.” However, I couldn’t help but gave the credit to the fresh and organic ingredients we used. In this cooking session, we have learned to respect the cooking ingredients and everything that were in our bowls.
