1.Teaching Children to Grow Rice-
Grass Hope Taiwan Foundation taught the 3rd and 4th grades children from Hushan Elementary School to grow rice. From seeding to harvesting, the children learned to appreciate the rice in their bowls. This special course was one semester (6 months) long. Children used the rice to make rice balls and shared with members in their community.
Children can also become great farmers.

4. Kang Yo (控窯)- Roasting Sweet Potatoes in the Field
This is a very fun activity. First, people will have to use the soil and mud in the field to build a small oven with a big hole inside it. Then, they will put sweet potatoes, chickens and corn inside their handmade oven. The food will be cooked for a while. During the waiting time, teachers from Grass Hope Taiwan Foundation will take people around the field. They will share with people common facts about natural farming and food education. Many parents like to bring their child to Kang Yo and have fun in the field during weekend time.
