Food Education-eating raw White Radishes
Earth's Children enjoyed learning in the field. When we were in the field, Mr.Hong always encouraged us to touch, taste and smell the vegetables. We often would try to take a big bite of them. In effect, raw vegetables can be very sweet and fresh. In addition, they are very nutritious. For example, Vitamin C is more avail be to the body in raw vegetables than in cooked vegetables.
Personally, I like the taste of raw white radishes. While we were working, Mr.Hong would slice some white radishes and shared them with us. It was very delicious. Some of my friends couldn't stop eating them. Raw radishes are often seen in the Chinese and Japanese restaurants. They can be pickled or made into salads. We also ate raw cabbages. When I was eating cabbage, I felt like I was acting like a rabbit. In fact, many wild animals eat the raw vegetables. Nowadays, we often think that food must be cooked. However, if the vegetable itself is organic and clean, we can actually eat them directly. Earth's Children learned that if we can grow our food in a more environmental friendly way, we can directly enjoy them without too much consideration.
