Reflection: It’s my second time participating in this competition and I am familiar with every team member and advisor, but we still faced lots of struggles during this period of time. The main problem was time management. After graduating from junior high school, we not only had to deal with a huge amount of school work, but also had to handle other personal issues. Therefore, we did not spend enough time on this project and we still had to modify our website on the last day.

Through this project, I learned a lot more about Chinese Martial Arts. Although we had martial arts classes in elementary school, we didn’t really pay attention because we just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.

During the process, we did lots of research and watched many martial arts competitions. After I finished this project I finally realized the value of Chinese martial arts and why the school arranged this class for us — to learn and appreciate the Chinese culture.

Horoscope: Scorpio
Personality: Easy-going

Hobbies: Reading, dancing

Reflection: This is the third time I am participating in this competition. However, I was a little worried due to the topic we chose. I thought “Chinese Martial Arts” would be a subject that was way too broad for us to handle. As I predicted, in the beginning none of us knew what to do or which direction to focus on. Fortunately, with our teachers’ guidance and efficient teamwork, we eventually finished the project at the very last minute. Throughout the project, I realized that teamwork really is what matters the most.

Gender: Female
Horoscope: Libra
Personality:Enthusiastic

Hobbies:Novel writing, singing, and reading

Reflection: When I was young, I actually hated PE classes due to how boring I thought martial arts was. I thought the school was just forcing us to learn something that was worthless in daily life. However, after finishing this project, I realized it was important to protect and preserve our local culture, so it was my duty to be a protector of martial arts. We started to learn all things related to martial art, including movies, books, and competitions. As a result, my sister even joined the school martial arts team and won awards! It is my honor to be part of the preservation of martial arts.

Personality: Perfectionist

Hobbies:Gaming, reading

Reflection: I was invited into the team as the main translator. My job was essentially to translate all Chinese content, and in this process I developed some interest in Chinese martial arts. I was a big fan of martial arts before this project, and I would watch Muay Thai matches and boxing tournaments online in my spare time sometimes. But this was the first time I really took my time to understand what Chinese martial arts was all about, aside from the cursory glances I gave it on Wikipedia. It really is a unique art form — although it may not be entirely practical for self defense anymore, the artistry that is involved in Chinese martial arts far exceeds any other style of martial arts today. It is my honor to be a part of this project.

Reflection:This is my first time participating in this competition. I was so happy that my classmates invited me to join the team several months ago. In the beginning, I was nervous and I feared I couldn’t do things right, but my teammates helped me out. We spent plenty of time on it, and we were working on this even when section tests were coming up. It is thanks to my teammates and teachers that we managed to accomplish this daunting task...
