Steps

The steps of painting gouache are divided into two parts one is preparing the materials and the other is actual painting:

1.Preparing the materials is also divided into glue, paints, laminar, and drawing paper

Glue preparation

(1)The piece of glue to be cooked has to folded into pieces, soaked in water for a day so that it is softened.
(2)Heat the glue below 60℃ then you’re done.

Paints preparation

Due to the fact that gouache cares about how the color tone appears, so it is divided into two types: rock painting and water painting:

(1)Water painting
Grind the sold dry paint in the bowl → Add the glue and mix well
(2)Rock painting Heat the rock painting into the color you want → Add the glue and mix well

Laminar preparation

(1)Grind the laminar in the bowl and add the glue in it
(2)Stir it
(3)Add warm water to remove impurities
(4)Add the water into the finished product in step (3), then stir it

Drawing paper preparation

It is divided into two steps: laminate and alum

(1)Use the way of brushing to brush the alum on the side to be drawn, then wait until it is dry then brush it again
(2)Brush the alum on the side you want to stick on the drawing board and flatten the paper
(3)Paste it on the drawing board and check if the corners are pasted indeed.

2.The actual painting is divided into three parts: pre-production, creating an atmosphere and coloring

(Note: here focuses on the skills, so material preparation will not repeat again)

(1)Pre-production that is the preparation before coloring and gluing, including preparation of drafts.

A. Observe the shape, color, light or shade and so on of the painted things.

B. Final draft. According to the draft space configuration, determine the exact location of the drawing object.

C. (Before the original production of the painting) brush the alum on the drawing paper, and then paste it on a special wooden board.

D. Place the copy paper between the draft and the drawing paper to overwrite it.

(2)Atmosphere:

A. Paint the gouache outline in thick ink, and use the skill color gradation with light ink to create atmosphere.

B. Exchange the glue into the laminar for the background and paint it. (Note: background color cannot be underestimated otherwise it will after affect the drawing.)

(3)Set color:

A. Color on a certain background color (gouache)

B. One by one detailed description, including color brightness, rich tone and other details.

C. Observe the shape, color, light or shade of the object.

D. The picture is completed.
