Materials

Paints can be divided into base painting materials, the performance of painting materials, metal painting materials and tools four kinds.

1.Base painting materials

(1)Drawing paper

There are many types of paper, of course, sometimes you have to choose the paper by different topics or skills performance to show the best results.

(2)Silk

(3)Others

2.Performance painting material

(1)Rock paint

Mostly made from minerals that are ground into powder. The categories are broadly divided into two categories, natural and synthetic. The natural category has about 40 natural mineral colors, and glaze firing can make hundreds of colors. General classification of rock paints use the number of 1 to 15 and use white to distinguish between pigments. The bigger the number are, the smaller and lighter the particles ; the smaller the number, the more coarse the particles with deeper color.

(2)Laminar

Laminar is one of the most important white pigments in gouache. Modern art mentions laminar, which should refer to the natural oyster shell as raw material, and is made using the traditional water sieve method.

(3)Pigment

Pigments are made of laminar and white clay. The color is diverse and cheaper; the effect is more soften than rock painting.

(4)Glue

Generally refers to the animal's endothelial or cartilage. Through a special process of boiling extracted and purified to become collagen, but due to the absence of preservatives, it is easy for the glue to fall off, so you have to be very careful while using it. You can buy pre-mixed glue in the market; if you want to mix it by yourself you can also buy the dry glue too.

3.Metal painting materials:

(1)Foil paper

Typically gold or silver is made into a sheet of about 11 cm square size. The foil is stuck to the background of the canvas, showing luxurious decoration.

(2)Mud

(3)Sand

4.Tools

(1)The appearance bursh

It is usually made of white cat or beaver fur. Its hair shape is slim and long and is commonly used for line drawing and detailed coloring purposes.

(2)Drawing brush

Mainly made of wool and weasel hair, often used to create shorter and hard lines.

(3)Color brush

Made of wool and weasel hair, because of the use of color , it's ability to hold liquid is its main characteristic.

(4)Wei-Qu bursh

Rough round at the tip of the brush, suitable for ink or painting the "blooming" technique.

(5)Cursive handwriting brush (in Chinese calligraphy), flat brush

The former is composed of an odd number of pen tubes and the latter is a single one and the pen tip is planar. Both are suitable for large-scale painting techniques such as color techniques

(6)Bristles (painted bristles, empty bristles, alum bristles, water bristles, etc.)
