Environmental Promotion
After understanding and participating in various activities of SOW, we wanted to promote SOW’s concept of environmental protection and ecological education in the school, and introduce SOW by sharing our actual participation in environmental activities and experiences.
In order to attract the attention of the younger students, we were separated into five groups. Each group went through at least two video conferences and a practical rehearsal before entering the class, and through the discussion and rehearsal, we increased the interaction between the two speakers. We also designed Q&A with some awards to interact with the audience and attract their attention. Despite our practice and preparation, we were still nervous during the presentation. However, the rehearsal and practice had paid off and we were able to have good team work to support each other through the presentation.
During the presentation, there was a video of a sea turtle getting a plastic straw stuck in its nostril that shocked many students and reminded them to support the government's environmental protection policy of not providing plastic straws. They were also very interested in seeing us walk into the mountains and meet the beauty of nature with the volunteers from the Wilderness Conservation Society, and the enthusiastic responses during the quiz gave us a great encouragement and response to our promotion activities.
